We spend the night at a very nice and cosy hotel called Whangamomona – Home of the
republic! This hotel lies in a small township called Whangamomona, in Stratford District.
I think this is the only hotel in the district, haha! It lies in a beautiful countryside
that has spectacular scenery and rich history as well. The township declared itself a
republic in 1989 in protest, after the local government had redrawn the boundaries.
Whangamomona were located in another region.
We wanted to visit this place, because the landscape was really gorgeous. This isn’t
something we get to see everyday. Just take a look:
See you guys!
